The Chicago White Sox are a Major League Baseball team was established in 1900. The club is presently based in Chicago, Illinois and belongs to central division of the American League. In 1900, Charles Comiskey founded the White Stockings when he relocated his minor league team, St. Paul saints, to Chicago. The team was renamed the white sox in April of the same year and became a charter member of American League in the following year. The White Sox are one of two major league teams based in Chicago, the other being the Chicago Cubs of the National League. White sox were one of the American League's eight charter franchises and subjugated game during the beginning of 20th century. Since 1901 till 1919, Chicago won four AL pennants and two World Series titles. In 1906, pitchers Ed Walsh and Doc White commanded the crew for their first World Series championship against their cross town rival cubs. In 1910, The White Sox were facilitated with the newly opened Comiskey Park, where a number of stupendous batsmen piloted the White Sox to distinction from 1915 to 1919.

Hitters Eddie Collins and Joe Jackson powered the team’s offense while pitcher Eddie Cicotte and catcher Ray Schalk starred defensively during Chicago’s World Series championship in 1917. Everything was going well but the team's fortunes turned around abruptly after it became involved in what is dubiously the greatest outrage in the history of the sport. In 2004,General manager ken Williams completely changed the scenario of the team by including center fielder Scott Podsednik, outfielder Jermaine Dye and former Yankee pitcher Orlando Hernandez . Additionally, former Minnesota Twin and San Francisco Giant A.J. Pierzynski was hired to plug the catching spot. Finally, to complete the make-over, Williams drafted Japanese second baseman Tadahito Iguchi.The modification made an instant bang on the team. In 2005, the White Sox posted the best record in the major leagues for much of the year. In 2005,The team ended long years of aggravation, when it won its first World Series since 1917, after winning only one league championship in the years from 1920 to 2004. Chicago white sox are the current World Series champion, and are managed by former team shortstop Ozzie Guillén. The White Sox look perched to duplicate as baseball's champion in 2006 by adding 29-year-old starter Javier Vazquez, Vazquez, Thome, and utilityman Rob Mackowiak.
