Colorado Hotels And Night Life

Denver city, popularly known as Mile High city is the largest and the capital of Colorado. Denver is situated on the plains, east of the foothills of the Rockies. The popuRockies Citylation of Denver as of 2003 was five hundred and fifty seven thousand. The city has been honored by having a few Naval Ships named after it. Denver was established as a city in 1861. Denver was prosperous in the late 19th century because of it's gold and silver mines. Denver's economy thrives due to some important industries based in the city; biomedical technology, Telecommunications, real estate, retail trade and construction. Denver International Airport is the largest in North America and the first major newly built airport in the United States in over twenty one years. The Winter Olympics in 1976 were to be hosted in Denver but due to in-house politics this was not possible and the games were moved to Austria. The city was the unfortunate location for the Columbine High School Massacre in 1999. Denver has several tourist attractions including; the Coors Brewery, Rocky Mountain National Park, the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Denver Zoo, the Six Flags Elitch Gardens amusement park, Confluence Park, D&F ToweRockies Cityr (Once the tallest building in the region), Denver Museum of Nature & Science, Four Mile House, Union Station, Wells Fargo Center and the Molly Brown House. Denver is a rich sporting city and has all the four major professional sports franchises based in the city; Colorado Rockies (Major League Baseball), Denver Broncos (National Football League), Denver Nuggets (National Basketball Association), Colorado Avalanche (National Hockey League), Colorado Rapids (Major League Soccer), Colorado Crush ( Arena Football League) and the Colorado Mammoths, (National Lacrosse League).
