Todd Arthur Walker, who can do more than expected, currently plays for Chicago Cubs as second baseman. He's a well-groomed base runner who knows when to steal and when to take the extra base. Todd was blessed with human birth on May 25, 1973 in Bakersfield , California . Prior to Chicago Cubs, Todd has spent his nine years of professional career with Minnesota Twins, Cincinnati Reds, Colorado Rockies and Boston Red Sox. Texas Rangers was the first franchise to provide him a platform as professional baseball player when he was picked up in 51 st round (1316 th overall) of 1991 amateur entry draft (June Regular Phase). Along with pursuing his career in baseball he completed his graduation in 1991 from Airline High School in Bossier City , LA. He was again elected by Minnesota Twins in 1 st round (8 th overall) of 1994 amateur entry draft (June Regular Phase).
He continued his studies and received a degree in general business administration from Louisiana State University . Being an outstanding student and player during university life, he was honored as the most outstanding player in the College World Series. When he batted .400 at LSU, he was voted as the freshman of the year 1992 by Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball. Walker broke into Major League in July, 2000. Due to financial fix, Todd was traded to Colorado Rockies. During his career with Minnesota Twins and Colorado Rockies he hit .290 w/9 HR and 44 RBI. Again in 2001, he was hired by Reds. He played around 66 games in Cincinnati and recorded.295 hits. In 2003, Todd for the first time in his career played in postseason when Boston advanced to the A.L. Championship Series. In his sole season with the Red Sox, he batted .283 with 38 doubles, 13 homers and a career-high 85 RBI in 144 games. On December 23, 2003 , he signed the Chicago Cubs as a free agent. Todd batted .274 with 15 homers and 50 RBI in his first season with the Cubs.
