Washington Hotels And Night Life

Washington is the capital and administrative city of the United States of America. Washington is home to the 3 divisions of the United States Federal Government. The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank are vital world institutions that are based in Washington. Washington's population is five hundred and sixty thousand residents and ranks twenty fifth in the United States. Washington is situated in the middle of Virginia and Maryland on River Potomac. Washington became the countries capital in 1800Nationals City. Washington's economy is driven by the federal government and tourism. The City is the headquarters of severaNationals Cityl Unions, local and international organizations. Washington has several cultural attractions located around the city; the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Folger Shakespeare Library, the Smithsonian Institution and the National Gallery of Art. Washington is company town, as in most of the people who work in and around the city area are employed by the federal government, making it impossible for the cities economy to be in recession. Whether the general economy has it's pitfalls the federal government still has to operate. Washington has many major companies based in and around the city; Marriott International, Inc., Carlyle Group, Nextel, Unisys, US Airways, America Online, MCI, Colgan Air, Lockheed Martin and the Gannett Company. The White House is an attraction that makes Washington a favorite tourist zone. Their are several other monuments, buildings and museums that are worth visiting in and around the city. Here are a few; Jefferson Memorial, Albert Einstein Memorial, Catholic University of America, Lincoln Memorial, National Archives, National Building Museum, National Museum of Women in the Arts, National World War II Memorial, National Museum of American History, National Portrait Gallery, Washington Monument, Theodore Roosevelt Island and American Art Museum. Hotel and restaurants are renowned all over the world as some of the best in the world. Here are a few hotels for you to choose from; Hilton Crystal City, Hilton Gaithersburg, Sheraton Reston, Madison Hotel, Washington Plaza, Washington Terrace Hotel, Wyndham Washington, Hyatt Regency Washington, Grand Hyatt Washington, Four Seasons Washington and Capitol Hilton. Some of the restaurants are; Bambule Brasserie, Capital Grille, Primi Piatti, The Monocle, Uni a Sushi Place, Bacchus Restaurant D.C., Le Rivage, Shula's Steak House and Melrose. Several sports franchises are based in the city; Washington Capitals (National Hockey League), D.C. united (Major League Soccer), Washington Wizards (National Basketball Association) and Washington Nationals (Major League Soccer). An MLB team has not been present in Washington for over three decades, the Washington Nationals were formerly the Montreal Expos moved to the city for the start of the 2005 season.
