Los Angeles Hotels And Night Life

Los Angeles, popularly known as L.A., is the largest city in the State of California. Los Angeles has a population of 3.85 million as of 2004, making it the second most populous citDodgers Cityy after New York City which has more than double of L.A's population. Los Angeles was established as a city in 1850 and is the county seat of L.A. County. Los Angeles is situated in the southern part of California on the Pacific Ocean. Los Angeles climate is one of the most important factors that has led to the cities prosperous growth. The cities economy thrives due to the growth of the following industries; motion pictures, petroleum, aerospace, tourism, agriculture, furniture, jewelry, textiles and apparel. Los Angeles is a big tourist destination and is regarded as the number one entry point for immigrants coming into the United States. The largest manufacturing center in the United States in Los Angeles and it's port is the second largest customs district in the U.S. Los Angeles holds the distinction of being one of a few cities around the world to host two Olympic games. Los Angeles is home to the famous entertainment industry, "Hollywood." Motion pictures, recorded music and television are synonymous with Los Angeles. Most if not all of the actors and actresses who ply their trade in Hollywood live in Los Angeles e.g. Jennifer Aniston, Leonardo DiCaprio, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jodie Foster, Val Kilmer, Angelina Jolie, Helen Hunt, Kelsey Grammer, Liza Minnelli and the famous Olsen twins Ashley and Mary-Kate. Los Angeles local government is made up of a mayor and a fifteen member council. The Various departments in Los Angeles e.g. Police, Fire, School Districts are one of the largest in the United States. Millions of local and international tourists flock Los Angeles for it's perfect weather and several attractions, like; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Santa Anita, Hollywood racetracks, J. Paul Getty Museum, Griffith Park, Korea TownDodgers City, Chinatown, CBS Studios, Biltmore Hotel, Grauman's Chinese Theater, Central Los Angeles Library, Farmers Market, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Madrid Theater, Olvera Street, Museum of Tolerance, Madrid Theater, Staples Center, Warner Center, Thai Town, Miracle Mile, SS Lane Victory and Universal Studios. Los Angeles has three of the four major sports franchises based in the city. The National Football League (NFL) have not been in Los Angeles since 1995, even though the city has one of the largest television audiences in North America. The Professional teams based in the city are; Los Angeles Lakers (National Basketball Association), Los Angeles Dodgers (Major League Baseball), Los Angeles Clippers (National Basketball Association), Los Angeles Kings (National Hockey League), Los Angeles Sparks (Women's National Basketball Association), Los Angeles Galaxy (Major League Soccer) and the Los Angeles Avengers (Arena Football). Los Angeles has some of the best hotels and restaurants in North America owing to a large number of tourists flooding the city every year. Here are a few of those famous hotels; Hyatt Regency Los Angeles, Ritz Carlton Huntington, Hilton LA North Glendale, Hilton Port of Los Angeles, Beverly Hills Plaza Hotel, Beverly Crescent Hotel, Clarion Ventura Beach, Radisson Westside Hotel, Sheraton Los Angeles Harbor and Le Meridien Beverly Hills. The restaurants are; Water Grill, Cicada, Grace Restaurant, Porterhouse Bistro, The Blue Parrot, Buona Vita and Delius Restaurant.
