MLB: Chicago Cubs 5, Cincinnati 4
Aramis Ramirez hit three home runs Thursday night as the Chicago Cubs stayed close to the wild card lead with a 5-4 win over Cincinnati.
Ramirez went four for five in helping the Cubs to their sixth win in seven games. Chicago remained a half game behind San Francisco in the wild card race.
Two of Chicago's runs were unearned courtesy of an error by Sean Casey
Chicago trailed by a run entering the seventh, but after Corey Patterson reached on Casey's fielding error, Ramirez homered to left center.
Ramirez also had a two-run homer in the first. He has 33 for the season, equaling the team single-season record by a third baseman.
